New Civic SI in Stock Class?
I don't come here much since the intellitxt crap started, so if this is a over-asked question I apologize.
How are people's experiences so far with the new SI in stock class autocross? What does its potential look like for the next few years?
I'm looking to buy a car in the next 7 months or so, and wanted something good for autocross with the side-impact airbags. Had been looking at the new Miata and Solstice, but then remembered the SI... it may be FWD, but if you can still Left Foot Brake in it (Throttle By Wire kills that??), the LSD and HP could make it a fun car anyway..
Dealerships around here are charging "Market Adjustments" and don't have any in stock anyway, so I drive it for myself yet...
(I tried searching, but got nothing on the new Civic in this forum-- if you could point me to already mature threads on this, that would be great too!)
Many thanks...

I predict that the Solstice is going to be an overdog in CS this year. It can fit the 285/30-18 tires, has more roll stiffness than the NC Miata, and can get a shitload of front camber (-3ish). One just won CS at the Peru National Tour event.

I think you might be able to swap the manual throttle body off of an rsx if you want to get rid of e-throttle. This might void the warranty but if you are going to autocross it anyway, who cares.

This is obviously not legal in stock class, which is what he is asking about.

There was a newbie racing a new Si yesterday at our local AutoX. The thing looked like it was understeering like a pig. He was pushing it pretty hard though. I wasn't too impressed with it (probably the driver), but I've test driven one and I do like them.

I think one of the Philly region guys has one and ran it at WDCR. I believe he was about 1 second back and the car is completely stock. Check the results there.
There have been a few guys trying to develope the Si and get it up to speed with the mini's, but its going to be a tall order.

IMO alot of AXers are jumping the gun abit on that. 1 Event doesn't make it an overdog...particularly when the course dependencies of the new CS diversity were really highlighted. I think its a good match for the class.
