Default *How many of you guys drive around with the heater on hot*

Just as the title says, how many of you guys drive around in ur boosted cars with the heater on the hot side?....does it really help remove heat from the engine bay or the engine itself?..... I heard that it does help ...but i just want to make sure if its true or not..

i had a friend who had to do that otherwise his car would get too hot and over heat. I personally think its ghetto. If the cooling system can't effectively do its job then you got probs.

But to answer your question, yeah will help in emergency situations, like if your car unexpectedly overheats.

I can only imagine having to drive around town with the heater on in the middle of August.

it doesnt remove heat from the engine bay. it pulls heat out of the coolant system, allowing the motor to run cooler. but you shouldnt have to do that if your cooling system is in proper working order

It does help. My HB used to overheat when it had a bad water pump. I would turn the heater on blast and according to the temp gauge, the temps went down.

Yeah no reason to do it everyday. Only time I have done it was when a blew a headgasket and needed to cool temps as quick as possible. And also have race at strip or autocross, that way to cool the car down as quick as possible.
