Default Brake setup finished!

Nothing special but with spoon calipers I have finished my brake setup
Front rotors are CTF composite, rear rotors are "traditional" CTF baffed rotors, brake pump rebuilded with the OEM kit, CTF brake hoses, Spoon front calipers with ProjectM level900 pads, stock rear calipers with nissin pads and finally ApRacing 551 brake oil

Have you ever tried this CTF composite rotors? they have 1 year of life and more than 3 hours of track and never had problems.
If the cast iron is good and the thermal working is good too the drill hole is not a problem imho

And in this rotors the vent of the warm air is in front of the rotor:

it has to serve some purpose, probably protects the ball joint and othe rubber components from rotor heat

Also, they serve as dustsheilds.

Pull them off.

Maybe I'm just slow, but I haven't melted any of the rubber pieces yet.

I'm not too worried about dust, as my suspension is inspected and cleaned frequently. Only the outside of the car is dirty.

I have to agree with Reid here. Pull the dust shields off. And whoever said it would melt something, go ask the HC guys what they do on their race cars.

Ok i think that the next time that I'll change the pads I'll pull the dust shields off
Especially with this kind of rotor ventilation they have no reason to stay here, only useless weight

nice looking setup.

here is how I trimmed my backing plates so that they could be put back on in the event of nasty weather.
