This is probably the cleanest highly modified Integra Type R you’ll ever find. It’s in impeccable condition, has always been garaged, and rarely driven since completion of the modifications. All of the parts used are always of the highest quality available, and each component installation was made with the utmost care. This was a project car of mine for about 4 years, and so the car has been very lightly driven. The odometer reading on the car is 36,000. I estimate that about $40,000 has been spent on all of the modifications.
It has all new high-performance body parts, including a carbon fiber hood, JDM metal fenders, performance bumpers front and rear, and matching side skirts. The parts are from Cwest, which are wind tested to over 180mph. The entire car was professionally repainted with 3 coats of clearcoat, and looks better than brand new.
The suspension has been fully modified with Cusco LS0 coil-over struts, white Racing Hart rims and Yokohama S03 tires that still have tread left. The brake rotors are two piece cross-drilled racing brembo’s with 4 piston aluminum calipers up front, while the pads are EMC Green Stuff, which is the best overall combination for light track and sporting street use. These components have about 3,000 miles on them.
In the interior, I put in Sparco racing seats and compatible 5 point racing harness on both driver and passenger sides. Defi gauges have been installed that provide a “brain” to adjust warnings and record gauges. There is a full racing roll cage, and therefore no back seats. I built a custom carbon fiber stereo panel that houses four 8” subwoofers that are powered by a 500-watt amplifier.
The turbocharged motor was built in late 2004 by blacktrax, one of the most reputable Acura engine builders in California. When the motor was delivered, I was planning on keeping the car and so I very carefully and correctly broke it in by driving 500 miles with varying the throttle on the freeway, and added another 300 additional miles of gentle driving around. Since then, I’ve only driven this motor another 60 miles to a from a car show, so the total usage on this motor is 860 miles since being built.
This engine is capable of 23 psi of boost, which can theoretically make up to 650 hp. The engine is now running a lower output tune that was used for breaking in without boost and so it needs to be retuned for highest output, but it runs great right now. A previous engine setup created 420whp at 15psi, good enough for sub-5 second 0 – 60 times. The engine has over $1,500 of thermal coatings from the turbo to the pistons. I installed a custom titanium downpipe back exhaust which is the only known one in the U.S.
There are a few things that need to be finished on the car, such as fixing the turbo timer wiring, adjusting the stereo, and aligning the suspension. I will detail all of these for the buyer and assist in providing detailed instructions.
For full disclosure, the car was in a minor accident that required replacing a rear quarter panel, but the repair was done professionally so there is no evidence of the accident and the frame did not have to be straightened.
This car is an absolute turbo performance monster! With summer coming up, this is the perfect time to spend fun weekend’s pleasure driving a clean, fast and incredibly original Integra Type R. I can assure you that there will never be an Integra Type R like this on eBay again with so many things that set it apart from all other Integra’s. The reserve is at 18k.
