Default Skunk2 Throttle Bodies?

I was looking at the skunk2 throttle bodies and noticed the the 66/68mm are the same price, yet the 60 and 70 are diffrent in price. I was just wondering if you were to purchase a a new throttle body wouldnt it be best to just get the 70mm for all aplications? to my understanding the bigger the throttle body the better right?

Bigger is definitely better if you are set up for it. A 70mm wouldn't help you much if your intake manifold is anything below that.

well how would you go about getting your intake manifold to be bigger, a machine shop? I searched around dont see any aftermarket manifolds for the f series engine.

I would personally check out MaxBore.com and forget the Skunk2 altogether.

you grinded your own intake manifold? I mean using a die cutter or dremal isnt to hard but im thinking that **** is suppose to be really smoothe inside and ground a certain way. I just dunno if id trust not using like the toold machinist use, could be totally wrong though. I dunno to much about doing your own boring on stuff.

MaxBore.com has a link on their site to Honda-Tech threads talking about them. They are pretty well like on this forum.

it's hard to do it perfectly, my shop manager call pull it off like it's nothing.

again, not something you want to do with your manifold if you have no experience.

plus, some people argue that the rough surface inside of the manifold is suppose to cut down the turbulence when the air is entering from the tb.

you do, of course, realize that if you are stock, this mod is not going to help you at all...

In fact, if you are not running cams and bump your compression or already have FI, this mod is a total waste.

But you know this already...

Really? becuase when i this company makes this kit for my jeep that consists of a bored throttle body and an sri, they claim it adds like 20hp or some bs like that. I was thinking if anything a bored throttle body and intake would add a ton better throttle response if nothing else. Not really excpecting some crazy horsepower gain from doing it on a stock engine.

well the guy on max bore does F engines at 64mm not 70, so will that make a diffrence on a stock engine then? Im planning on doing some type of forced induction later down the road, im sure that it will definately help then but will i see any gains buy boring to 64mm on my stock engine?

If I had a list of 10 things to make power including boost, TB would be #8 as well.

I dunno if it's the same for 5th gens but on 4th gens if you get the dual runner bottom half you can put the H22/H23 plenum on your IM and get a Skunk2 throttle body...
