Who runs stock GSR IM without IABs?
I've been having a lot of problems hooking up my IAB's with my P72 ecu on my JDM B18c motor. Wired pink wire to A17, Black to A25 but the still don't open or close!
I've got to the point where I have given up trying to sort it out due to time constraints. Now the thing is my car runs like **** without the IAB's and there is a huge flatspot and noticeable power loss until around 5000rpm.
I've read up and found a lot of people have suffered this problem when they change their IM to Skunk2 or BLOX and a lot of people have suggested raising VTEC to 5800rpm. I guess this will help top end power but obviously it doesnt solve the low end problem.
I was just wondering if this is caused by bad fuelling from the stock ECU and the permanent use of the long intake runners? Would it be running rich or lean?
Has anyone successfully tuned out the bog on an NA setup?
Just details on my motor to help:
Stock JDM B18c
Stock JDM P72 ECU
Replica J's intake
4-2-1 headers
2.25" mandrel bent exhaust with N1 muffler
Thanks

Yup cut the connector near the solenoid and ran 2 wires the pink to A17 and black to A25 which i believe is ground. I've also tried grounding the black to the chassis and it didnt do ****.

Yeah i don't know what the problem is. Im sure pink goes to A17 and the black to A25 or any grounding point (OBD1). I unplug vaccum hose 13 on the plunger at idle and there is no vaccum. How can i test if the IAB solenoid is working? And it looks like a bitch to get unless I remove the whole IM which is a mission
If you have a buddy try to open the IAB manually at the proper rev point. The vacuumn pod on the side can be manipulated manually. Take a closer look at it and you will understand the up/down action of the control arm.
There is a little adjustment setting that might help?? good luck.

Arm moves fine when I manually move it. No restrictions whatsoever. I'll have another go with the wiring later. If not then may look at the solenoid to be the cause. Im sure my P72 ecu is fine. Bloody irritating.
