Default Bense Built Transmissions. (D-series)

Well with all the transmission business that I've been getting, I figure I might as well start a little side project to help pay for other car parts.

lsd installs, hybrid transmissions, etc. I can do it all.

right now i have several parts laying around to piece together whatever transmission that you want. I have two cable (88-91) cases as well as a d16y8 transmission that I can sell.

oh so you are worried about me not putting it together correctly? Well you should be more worried about buying someone else's transmission and hoping that everything looks good on the inside.

i have several parts to choose from: Here's some synchros

I have sleeves/hubs/gears mainshafts/countershafts, shift forks, final drives, whatever.

in my stock right now i have a 3.722 final drive, 4.058, and a 4.25 (all hydro)
3.88 for cable.

dx 2nd with a ex 3rd for a tighter rpm drop for rolling starts? You got it!

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Wazup &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">how much for that y8 transmission? is it stock?</TD></TR></TABLE>

the y8 transmission has a dx 2nd gear, i needed the 1.909 2nd gear because of my close ratio gear set. dx 2nd with my close ratio 3rd would have been too close.

however the y8 transmission with a dx 2nd gear is actually faster from a roll. slightly taller 2nd puts you further into 3rd

as of right now my prices are going to be (without shipping)
$250 for ex/si transmisssions (4.25 final)
$150 for dx/vx/hx/lx/etc transmissions.

again, these will be selected with the best synchros that I have, and with bearings that are in good condition. Want to have all new bearings? Well purchase them and I'll put them in for an extra $25

current hydro stock (92-00):
2x 4.25 final drives
5x 3.25 final drives
1x 4.058 final drive
1x 3.722 final drives

current cable stock (88-91):
2x 3.88 final drives

0x zc 1.346 3rd gear (i actually have one that i am using as a reserve in case my infinitude gears don't cut it for me. want it? Well claim dibs on it for when i decide to sell it (if i do))
3x vx 1.066 3rd gear (great to be used as 4th) but requires an additional $25 to cover for the slight machining for use as hyrdo 4th (to be used as cable 4th requires no mods)
3x zc 1.033 4th gears (no modification to be used as a cable 4th, the same modification as the vx 1.66)
5x 0.702 5th gears
1x 0.771 5th gear
2x 0.878 5th gear

the best oem gearing in my opinion is
1st 3.25 (all d-series have the same 1st)
2nd 1.762 or 1.782 (92-95 is 1.762, 96-00 is 1.782) you won't ever know the difference
3rd 1.346 (dohc zc 3rd)
4th 1.066 (vx 3rd as 4th)
5th 0.878 (dohc zc 5th)

and either a 4.71 or a 4.928 final drive from infinitude. again, that's for people that are overly **** about their gearing (like me)
