My 98 accord stalls sometimes when I turn it on. It putters and the car shakes and turns off. I cant get it to turn back on for like 5 minutes, I just have to wait. What could be the reason for this?

does it stall like right away or can you rev the engine to prevent the stall? And does it stall at stop lights randomly? My aspire used to do that, I would just rev the engine while at lights and keep the RPM's high so it wouldnt die.

did you do any work to it, install anything, fix anything prior to this happening for the first time?

Ive had no recent work done to the car and the check engine i have is for a o2 sensor.

 

i would really check the timing belt. the timing could be off slightly.
