im currently fitting up my turbo on my ef and i ran into the crossmember problem. the downpipe almost fits but needs just a lil modz to make it fit. i heard u can grind it or cut it out a lil and it works? im on a low budget so i cant afford an aftermarket one.. so for now i need to grind it out? does anyone have and easier way to cut it out or just keep grinding. and do it the best i can? can someone please give me some feed back asap so i can get this project on its way? bc after that i should be good bc i have all my peices i need to get it up and ruining.. thanks in advnaced.......
Just turn the grinder sideways and use as a cutter. I had to grind mine down but I just had a lsvtec motor.
yeah, I just cut some out to make my JDm R header fit in my DA. it will be ok. There are some nice traction bars out there but they are allll $$$$!

I ran into this trouble, Im debating wether cutting it or not. Wont handling be affected? I want to buy a hytech header or just a 4-1 type r header but, Im worried that handling will be affected. What has been your experiences for those who have cut their cross member to fit a header.

why hack up such a vital part when aftermarket bars can be had for pretty cheap now

if it only needs a little removed just use a big f'ing hammer to dent it out of the way but carefully of course trial fit it often
