Default Help on heated seats

My lude is a 97, its the base model, its USDM (im from Canada)
im guessing the USDM and probably Can model for the 97 base lude came with no heated seats, but the previsous owner of the car put some leather seats in the car and i noticed that under them there is the clip for the heating...i was wondering what i would need to be able to do the "conversion" if i can call it like that...to get these heated seats, obviously i need new door panels (the ones with the button) unless you can just put the button in there..but i doubt it...but do i need a relay of some sort? do i need to fuse it? etc

thanks alot

I would guess that it would be pretty hard to convert a non heat seat, and on the mirrors the same thing. I think the easiest part would be the switches. You could just buy some and place them where ever you wanted.

I actually did the conversion for mine before last winter. I bought a carbon fibre heater element off ebay for like 75 bucks. Its real thin and has a soft fabric feel to it. You pull the seat out and remove all the clips and seat covering. Theres one element for your *** and one for your back. It has this special tape that seals in fibers when you cut holes to run zip ties to the wires in the cover. Pretty easy install. It comes w/ a gay round switch w/ hi/low settings. Ive havent gotten around to calling a CA dealership to see if I can get a square button for my console (maybe you can get me a # or price). Its a pretty good upgrade especially when its cold out.

Just make sure you wire it to the ignition cause I forgot to turn it off a few times and drained the battery. Other than that it warms up in a few minutes and can get pretty hot.
