Alternator problems on 2000 Accord
Something wierd - the open door indicator the batery indicator and the break indicator on my 2000 Accord V6 went on. At the same time the alternator stoped working. Could this be a fuse?
Any help woud be great!
Thanks!

Actually right before an alternator goes out it usually makes all types of lights and stuff flash.
Your alternator is probably dead.

it's called Delphi and they made the alt. You can replace it with a 130a alt from an oddessy but you will have to make your wires a tad bit longer to reach it.
Everything bolts and connects right up but since the connector is farther away, the wire is not long enough to reach the terminal

yes, the stock alternator is a pile of **** dephi one. when i had the v6, the bearing took a **** on me at like 30k. and i replaced it with a brand new 180amp unit from alterstart. but then my car got totaled
btw, i have that 180amp alternator for sale, its got under 10k miles on it, and used for 6months, which is basically brand new. i was looking to sell it for 175shipped, let me konw if you need it, its just chillen in my garage doing nothing,
sorry for the shameless plug, hehe. my email is eddiebx@aol.com thanks

Thanks for the help but the thing is that I put in a new battery but the lights are still on. I'm kind of new to Accords only been driving one for about a year so it's a puzzel to me. However, I changed an alternator on my mom's corsica and no lights were on with a new battery. That's why I was wondering If it might be some fuse. Sorry for not explaining the situation better last time.
So you still have the old alternator but put a new battery in? And the lights are still on. Those lights being on mean that the alternator is about to go. See how long the new battery lasts. If it dies pretty quickly it is definitely the alternator.
Thanks again for your help. You were right, it was the alternator. I cheked all the fuses and wires and it turned out that they were all good, so I replaced the alternator and everything is working well. However, now I need the security codes for the CD player. If you know where I can find them that would be great.

You should have a sticker with some numbers on it in the glove box. That's your radio code. If you don't have that, you're gonna need to go to a dealer to get it.
Well, a lot of times they place the sticker in the glove box like 02accord stated. But if not just check around other places like the ashtray and such. If you can't find it anywhere in there then take your driver's license and your car title into the dealership. They can use the VIN on the title to pull up the code and will need to make sure you actually are the owner before they give it to you (hence the license). If they say they can't then you may have to pull out the radio to look at the serial number on the top of it so they can use that to pull up the code.
Me again with the questions. I found some number in the glovebox. How do I know it's the right one? Is there a certain number of digits it should have, and how do I enter it?
I really appreciate all the help!

The number I found turned out to be the serial number of the CD player. So I went to the dealer and gave them the VIN and the serial number and they gave me the code free of charge. Thanks for pointing me in the right derection.
