it happens whenever i accelerate hard. THe car is brand new with 3k miles. 2006 v6 coupe ex. So i went to the dealer and had someone ride next to me. When the "master tech" heard it he said that it was normal.

Now it keeps getting more distinct.

Seriously, what's is normal about a car making a screeching noise whenever it accelerates.

Wierd thing is it never happens when i'm cruising on the highway or doing stop and go on a busy city street.

It sounds like the wheel bearing of a bike moving with little or no lubrication. screeeh.. screechhh..

i'm about to load a c4 in my trunk and drive it into the dealership

 

Take it to another dealer.

yeah, mines does the same thing only when I accelerate hard you kno like a jackrabbit start.

Ummm . . . that would be the sound of rubber attempting to gain traction on the street.

As for the original poster, do you have any idea what an alternator belt screeching sounds like? Is that what you are hearing?

 

I'll try it out again today if I have a chance, but I have no issue with my 2006 6-6 Coupe making any kind of screeching noise on full acceleration.

I can hear the secondaries open, and I can tell when it comes on the cam...but I don't hear any screeching.

Is this an automatic you're talking about? Maybe the automatic screeches?
