ITR vs GSR tranny?
Can some one help enlighten me? I want to get an LSD for better traction and Im thinking of getting a JDM ITR LSD. I hear that it can be installed into my GSR tranny but I need to order shims and blah blah blah.
So instead would it be worth ti to jsut buy the whole JDM ITR tranny w/ lsd in it and jsut swap trannys?
How do the gear ratios differ? I have heard that ITR have shorter gears is this true? Im not too fond of crusing at 4k something going only 80 mph in 5th gear in my GSR.
thanks for your help I appreciate it.

I would recommend getting a USDM ITR, JDM CTR, or 96 Spec JDM ITR transmission. They all have the same gear ratios. If you want a shorter final drive, get an 4.929 or 4.785
The 98 Spec JDM ITR transmission has GSR 4th and 5th gears. Even though it comes with a 4.785 final drive, there is a noticeable gap between 3rd and 4th that ruins it for me.

Cool I will do that. Thanks for the info.

shimming it is easy. All you need is 8 dollar feeler gauges and a new transmission housing axle seal.
heat expands, so a 0.004-0.006" clearance is ideal
for more b-series transmission questions, check the sig.

oh Im not worried about the process fo shimming. it is the hassle of the fact that you need to measure the gap and then order the shims from honda. while in the meantime you can drive.
