Default 2000 Civic Si

I am planning on buying a 2000 civic Si one with 95000 miles on it. I need this car to be in peak condition for driving use. Eventually im going to change the motor to a type R. Can anyone help me by telling me if they think ill have a lot of problems with the car engine and suspension wise? And What about when i drop the new motor in the car will i have even more problems? Anyone out there please school me.

all depends on the condition of the car...what kind of condition is it it..it could be 95k abused miles..might not be..we dont know..and for the motorswap..you will only have problems if u dont do it right..or the motor is bad.

I was gonna say the exact same thing...but generaly speaking 95k on a honda is nothing if properly maintained and not beaten on. As far as the swap goes...it wil most likely be a used motor unless you have bank so do some research on engines and proper compression where people got their swaps from and their over all experience. Do the research and the planning and everything should be fine.

Si is a great car I own one right now. Yeah As long as the car has been well kept should have no problems. With the money you spend on a R engine you could boost the stock engine

Why would you buy an EM1 with intent to swap out the engine? That's a waste of money. Buy an EX or something lesser; there's no point in paying a premium for an engine you aren't going to keep.

EXACTLY what he said. I own an EM1 and I love that ******* car!! But let me tell you....When people drive an Si they drive it like an Si! No doubt about it. But by the way that car look its a ******* STEAL!! if its not a SALVAGE title that is. I bought mine and its SALVAGE due to theft for 6.5 K with 52K mile on it. I rather put out another 6 hundreds for that car your about to buy.

take a test drive? look at the engine... hit up a vin check... check for leaks... check suspension .. look under the car see if things are done right... just some basic tips. but i mean i cant say its a steal... some people just move on from the honda scene and get other cars such as mercedes and bmw's. itsj ust what people think. i know a friend who about in integ gsr.. all hooked up for a 1000 cuz it had a bad headgasket.
