i've got an 85 interceptor 700 and was thinking about getting an exhaust. i had the idea of getting a stock can off of a newer gsxr/cbr/r1 and welding up my own system. anybody have anythoughts on this.

I wouldn't bother... Not gonna make any diff... I'd save your money to get a newer bike is all

ehhh. i don't really want a newer bike, this one suits me fine. total cost will most likely be around $50 and i think it would be a fun project.

 

If it's just gonna be a fun project I say do it. It should sound nice and keep you busy for a while. If I had **** to weld with I'd be making crap all the time.

 

Hell, why not. Im sure the used stock cans go for cheap.
