Default trouble code 43

Hey guys hoping you can help me out. The other day while driving the cel light came on. I checked the code, turns out to be 43. I have a 1992 EX Coupe. According to a honda book, 43 is an O2 sensor. Also 1992 ex coupe's r only supposed to have one sensor. (this is what i heard). Now at the time, i had about a quarter tank left. I don't know if i was paranoid but it seemed like i was eating gas. Today, when I filled up the tank, cel didn't even come on at all. I haven't gotten the chance to pull the code yet. so does anybody have an idea of what might be going on?

O2 sensor is the most likely cause. Your mileage would drop to around 23. Replace it with a Denso or NTK(NGK). If you go with a cheapo, You'll probably be doing it again in a couple of months. If yours is original, it might be easier to break loose while it's hot. hondiscountparts.com has the cheapest prices I've found on O2 sensors. NTK and Denso for a 92 are between $100 and $115.

I just checked the cel light and even though it doesn't come on while driving now, but it does spit the code 43. How do you change the sensor and is it difficult?

Like amckee said, they can be hard to remove (might want to do it while it's hot) What else do you need to know? If you don't have a repair manual, I sugest you get one.

My 02 sensor did the same thing at first. Came on and off. And then stayed on at all times. All you need is a 02 sensor removal socket. $8 at the AutoZone. and a 1/2 inch wrachet. Total of 2 minutes of work. Dont realy have to have it hot if you got the tool. If you dont want to buy it, its a 22mm.
Good luck
