v6 swap, is it possible?
has this swap ever been done? is it even possible? what about the tranny? aren't the v6 accords all auto's? would there be anyway to harness the power of the v6 without going auto, or buying a newer accord?
hmmm...well...i dunno about the 6th gens but as for the 5th gens the nose and body is longer in the front to fit in the extra two cylinders...so the answer to your question is probably not...and yes all v6 transmissions are autos and yes you can put a custom fit manual transmission in your existing car but it's a real pain in the ***...but it would be less money to just buy a v6 and work with the auto!

aahh i see, well that's all i wanted to know, im not gonna bother doing it if its going to costs thousands in fabrication, not worth it to me, i was just wondering cause i would love to harness the top end of a 6 cyl! oh well
hey man...you could seriously still go for it...just because the manual conversion is a bitch doesn't mean that it can't be done...this is a motor that is rarely worked on and this is somewhat due to the lack of aftermarket support...but if you are willing to put in time and custom pieces then you should definitely buy a v6 and tune that biatch!...just my thoughts anyways...i would if i had the cash flow...but i don't!
if you have the 6th gen dont get the 6th gen accord V6 go ahead and go with the bad boy CL Type S motor. I wish I could do it but it isnt a direct bolt up so
Are you sure from what I have seen the 3.0 in my car and the Cl type s engines look alot alike. They do have the same block after all.
[edit] hit enter too fast. I know for a fact the engine mounts dont line up right tho.

Maybe just seeing someone else do the swap would be enough satifaction for me

not worth the time/effort/$$...SOHC V6? plus- someone did a manual conversion and ended up losing VTEC for some reason...just get the new CL-S with 6 speed...save the $$ and spend it on modding the CL-S...
Actually they fixed the problem with the loosing of vtec. something they did tricked the ECU into thinking that it was in a gear other than park
If you want more power, then just get the H22 or H23. This will be much cheaper in the long hall, and there is much much more potential for these engines.
he is right if you look at a TL or CL 3.2 type S the intake manifold is taller and it is too tall for an 6th gen accord without a hood that has like a cowl in it

If I am not mistaken the C32 is the DOHC V6 in the NSX. I know for a fact that the Accord V6 the CL and TL both standard and Type S versions the MDX the Pilot and the Oddesy all have J series engines in them.
