Default Short shifter hitting exhaust

Hi, I have a SS on my ITR. When I was in the shop last week the tech told me the SS is hitting the resonator. What is the best way to fix this? Some say I don't need a SS on the ITR anyways. Suggestions? The contact is more noticeable when I have passengers in the car. It is lowered, and I plan to raise it 1" or so. Thanks

Resonator or heatsheild? If it's the heatsheild it's easy enough to bend, cut, or remove it to provide clearance for the short shifter.

In my case, it was both. Here were my fixes:
-Fat heat shield down toward the pipe.
-Sticked a good size screw underneath the shifter brushing. This pushed the shifter upward thus prevented it from hitting the pipe. Hope this help.
