i have a guy here who can make high quality camshafts but he needs drawings to make them. he said he can make cams for about 100$ each if i get the drawings. can anybody help with this?

Are you needing CAD drawings? Like Inventor 8, mechanical desktop,ect?

 

i relaly hope he means a CAD drawing and not a hand drawing,

honestly, i doubt u will find anyone that has a cad file of a camshaft. your best bet is to grab a cam, and construct the cad file urself.

 

I'm a drafter. I've been drawing up simple mechainical stuctures that are supossed to represent H series/general engine components. Not really for anything major though. It's just my own way of better understanding it. I haven't done any heavy mechanical profesional grade drawings as far as an engine goes. I usually work with construction drawings to bring home the cash.

I'm a much better free hand artist, but if you're looking for the precision neccessary for cams, I would do something in a CAD program.

 

i'm pretty good at solidworks. i could probably make something like that if you gave me enough specs like lift, duration, lobe spacing, cam length, cam diameter, (basically every spec you would need to make a cam)...
