Default Opinions for Wheel Choice & Prices

Hey fellas, I have been looking for some VX/HX or light weight wheels but looks are important too

What do you guys think of these options for a CRX and how much do these usually go for?

Anyone have pics of these wheels on thier rides? Please post so I can get a better idea. Thanks!

Option 1:
Konig Rewinds: Find them on ebay every so often (Just not sure on their weight)

Option 2:
Mazda Miata Panasport Lookalikes: They're around just not sure what to pay since they vary.

Option 3:
Good old VX rims: Hard to find a clean set.

Rewinds/Panas are awesome wheels!
Here's a pic of my car with HX wheels (similar to the VX, easier to find, and 14" not 13", 11.7lbs):

Sorry forgot the price...
I picked mine up at a yard for 100 bucks, two have some bad rash and one of the two has a bent lip, but they work fine... for 100 bucks it's not bad. Before I found these I was looking at 2-400 for a set.

Wider on 14s? I have 195s on mine, probably could go up to 205s (have put 195s on 5 inch Si wheels before). IMO 195s are plenty, especially with the Azenis, they seem to be a little wider than other 195 wide tires.

Rewinds were my choice. The weight with the tires (15x7) is about 32lbs, I weighed them so I know. The wheels alone are 15lbs but seem hella heavy with the tires, Falkens 205,15,50. They were slightly heavier then my stock Si wheels and they had 195's and not 185's.

If you purchase these you may have to roll the fenders depending on your ride height because of the offset. I've got the Eibach Sportline springs so it's not too slammed but low enough to were I rolled the back fenders a bit.

Good Luck!

http://www.edgeracing.com look at the Flik wheels they are light and cheap. My brother in law and I both have the bronze Fuel's (you can see them on my black car) and I also have a set of the Rewinds. DrDisco has the K-1's on his Teal CRX.

So nobody's feeling the Miata's wheels huh? I saw this picture of someone else's ride with them on and it looked pretty good in my opinion and then I found that picture of them blacked out and thought it would look pretty smooth.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Watanabe's on my Datsun 510, but they're much more deeper dish since it's for a rear wheel drive application and these Konig Rewinds are for FWD, so they just don't look as nice as traditional RWD wheels.

Anyway here's that pic of the Miata wheels on...I think I may be able to score a set for around a bill.

BiTurbo: I like those wheels too since those are real JDM Watanabe's but talk about bank! They're pricey as hell...so I'm trying to stay on some sort of budget since I'm just planning on buying a stock CRX HF for commuting purposes (i.e. leave it alone with it's wimpy little drivetrain) but I do want it looking better than the stock little wheels on it. I know I will pay a small price in the MPG department but I'm willing to trade that off for some style.

15's at 11lb??? Man if you find some like that LET ME KNOW!

Hell even the tiny 13" VX wheels weight 9.7 lbs (correct me if I'm wrong please)....so if 15's weigh that little they will cost you an arm and a leg I bet. I'm not planning on tracking, just getting high MPG!!!

That blue car above is mine. I actually really like my Miata wheels.

I bought them for $100 in perfect shape and they only weigh 12lbs each (about 1/2lb more than HX wheels).

You can find them for even cheaper than I bought mine for too.

I was looking for the lightest cheapest wheel I could possibly find, and these are the ones I ended up with. These are cheaper and way easier to find than HX or VX wheels.

I would have bought them even if I didn't like the way they look because of the price/weight of them, but I actually like the way they look. Plus, every other hatch in Portland has HX, VX, or LS meshies on them. I don't know of any other civics in the area with Miata wheels.

Anyways, I am pleased with these wheels, for the price you can't go wrong!

Just pm'd you.....

Just in case anybody else was interested.

I paid something like $875 for everything and that included the warranty for the tires and tax.

I didn’t pay what they normally charge for the tires ($107-9, something like that) but I had mentioned the price that they advertise in the magazine but it's from the Discount Direct. The price is cheaper because it’s directly from them and not from the store.

They guy matched the price, $97 each so you may want to point that out. I paid for the regular price of the wheels (sorry don’t know that right now) but I would ask them there price, look around and see if someone else will sell them cheaper and see if they will match that too.

Good luck!

I paid $200 for a set of Rewinds directly from Konig but that was a special deal that did not last long.

That was a good deal I wish I could have got in on it myself.
