What would YOU do with an '84rex?
Is an 84 worth fixin' up? It has a little bumber damage. Some rust spots. less then 170k. It seems to be running fine. But I honestly haven't had the time to do a true instepection on it. But it was a free car and it was a rex. I have an 88 si that I want to do a swap on when i have the spare cash. But from what i've been told it's to much to sawp the A6 from the 88 into the 84. The 84 is not SI (not sure if they had SI in 84). Look foward to hearing any ideas. If any

Eh . . . why not just stick with carbs?
A pair of Weber DCOEs or side-draft Mikunis would be fun on a D16.

There was actually a d16a1 86-87 Integra that came with carbs overseas.
Rare. But will drop right in.
Otherwise dropping the Si motor in with some carbs and engine work.
or
Convert all of your wiring over to Si (somewhat difficult) and then drop whatever mtoor you want in it the 86-87 integra pmfi will drop right in and the si motor. other then those 2 you will be doing even more wiring for electric advance dizzy.

I have a 88 HF LS/Vtec and a 87 DX. I put this Weber carb on the 87
http://www.carburetion.com/web...l=CRX
and it runs stronger than my brother in law's stock 90 CRX Si. Still gets the same 42-43 mpg.
I had a 84 1.5 back in the 80's until I ran into a horse on the way home from work.
I like em. There great cars. It's nice to have something around that is absolutely reliable, gets great mileage and is fun to drive.
The only thing is all the 84's are two tone. I think they look best a single color. So get it painted.

I'm running this same carb on a browntop zc in my 87 RT4wd Wagon. I agree, it pulls harder than my CRX did when it was stock. It has the sewing machine like precision revability of a dohc Honda but it spits, snarls and roars like an italian roadster. A very cool combo if you ask me.
If you put a 32-36 DGEV (or better yet a 38 DGES) carb and an aftermarket cam on the stock engine, it will be a beast. You're talking about roughly $500 in parts.
And even if it needs a new engine...they're dirt cheap.
