lol hope you are kidding. also its VTEC should be stamped on your valve cover (assuming DOHC or z6 & z1 motor)

If your are serious, don't listen to them. I'm betting your oil level is low. Check the oil and add if neccesary. If it isn't take off the VTEC silenoid and clean the screen.

who the expletive do you think you guys are? there's a bunch of douchebags on this forum that act like they have someone to impress. we dont need you stupid ******* jokes in here. this dude is asking for help ,and you're confusing him.
As others have said, it's probably just low oil pressure. Just check your oil level and top off. Or if you haven't done an oil change in a while, i'd also think about doing one.
p.s.: don't mind the asshats

just so the OP knows, VTEC relies on oil pressure to engage. If you do not have enough, it will not work. Your engine also needs to be at running temp for any vtec engagement.

yeah VTEC is dependent on oil level. it also isn't a good idea to try smashing out when you're too cool either, not only that vtec wont work (oil didn't heat and get to correct pressue levels yet) but also you waste gas
the vtech phone jokes were funny in 03, tolerable in 04, annoying in 05, and downright retarded in 06. Just an FYI for all you comedians out there.
OP, if you don't have a check engine light on, check oil level first, then check the solenoid screen for clogs, then check for a dent in the bottom of your oil pan.

im curious.. what would a dent in the bottom of an oil pan determine?

your oil pump pulls oil from the pan, so if the pan is dented up enough to block the pick up line, you won't get enough oil to engage vtec (along with some other problems), even if your oil level is good.

wow.. is that a common problem? becuz this whole time i have been trying to figure out why my vtec does not work.. so.. my problem could be as simple as my oil pan being dented up.. wow..
a possible solution is to jus take the oil pan off and pound it back out right?
thanks a lot for the info...

Wow, eleventy billion posts saying that VTEC relies on oil pressure after the kid was told AND understood and just as many making fun of him. God damn I love this place.
