ok as most of you know, my car was hit TWICE in the employee only parking lot at work. i never found out who did it and had a buddy help me fix the 1/4 panel and he repainted the entire car. i have been parking at the Honda dealership a few doors down b/c i used to work there and felt it was safer, but i never told any of the managers b/c i was just going to wait and see if anyone said anything. after about a month and a half some fuckstick salesman bitches at me and i didnt handle it so well and havent parked there since due to his ability to just go tell a manager and the next day my **** could have been towed. so whatever, back to the employee parking lot. NOT EVEN A WEEK goes by and my ******* freshly painted bumper gets scratched up and the fresh paint spiderwebbed at the bottom.
so... since i had been contemplating a beater for a while, i decided that i should really start looking to avoid this bullshit in the future. i had plans to buy wheels in june and tires shortly after so i could roll out to a big honda/acura meet at the end of july looking not so stock, but now im not sure if its worth having a beat up car lol.
so heres my dilemma... i want wheels for the lude soo bad BUT if i wait to buy a beater my car could get hit again in the parking lot at work.
if i buy a truck "now" i wuold just have to wait a few months till my bank account gets back up to a healthy level (i like to keep a $2k buffer in there for emergency purposes, so id have to wait till i get like $2.5k to buy wheels.) and this would mean that my car would be safe from those bastards at the parking lot
heres what the lude could look like: (photoshopped...)

and here is the ONLY beater that im considering: (not this exact one, but same body style, 4wd, and 5-speed)

why a truck? b/c everytime i go offroading i have to ride bitch in one of my friends passenger seat and im tired of it. also, b/c whatever truck i get will be high off the ground with metal bumpers (note the rear bumper
) so if it does get hit in the parking lot at work i wont even give a ****
and last but not least, those trucks DO NOT DIE EVAR!!
and on a side note, i went to the insurance office and they said it would cost $400/6months for liability on the truck. add that to $250/month i pay for full coverage on the prelude and it would add up to somewheres about $310-$320ish a month for both cars. i *could* do this but i wouldnt be a big fan of it lol. so since the Prelude is so old and id prolly only get like $3.5k for it if i totalled it or it got stolen, do you guys think it would be worth it to put the prelude on liability too? i forgot how much she said it would be, but it was at least a few hundred less every 6months. or is there a way they can set it up so that if i get in an accident that is my fault then i would pay for my own **** (like liability) but if it got stolen then my insurance would cover it (like full coverage). i forgot to ask her that
sorry for the novel

definitely get a beater...that way you can throw the lude on jackstands and do whatever the hell you want to it
If you can afford a new car if your Prelude gets totalled, then yea, get liability. Not many people can just up and buy another car though
edit: Same wheels I have my eyes on as well. Just dont know if I should get gunmetal or flat black

if the prelude gets totalled ill have the truck
but yeah, i dont drive like i used to so if the prelude is involved in an accident i like to think that it prolly wont be my fault. and if i get the truck, the prelude will be on the road like half the time it is now so thats half the chances of being in an accident.

basically how i feel.
i need to go back to the insurance company and ask them how much it would be for liability on the truck as my DD and the prelude as the "weekend" car. ive heard it could be cheaper than what i pay now
