Recommendations on brake system
besides the obvious changing of brake lines, pads and rotors; i want specifics. slotted and c/d or one or the other. twin, triple or quad piston calipers, what size rotors? i am doing a street car. and ABS isnt working the pump is bad and its over a grand to fix for a pump. i want weight and stopping capability taken into consideration. i am thinking of doing NSX caliper with slotted and crossdrilled rotors and SS braided lines with either EBC green stuff or AEM ceramic pads. and i wrecked the car because the breaks didnt work that well. so lets hear recommendations...
personally i think the drilled are not the way to go. you lose brake surface. if i were to go with anything other then blanks i would get the slotted or maybe the dimpled. i think the nsx calipers are a good idea if i could afford them i would do it. or look into the endless brake systems. pbr ultra ceramic pads are decent too. of course ss lines maybe look into a new master cylinder. my .02
don't get cross drilled rotors.....it gets cold some times here in nc and water can get in the holes and freeze and you can guess what happens next. Unless you plan on doing repeated stops from 80-0 i would not bother with drilled or slotted, those are more for keeping the rotors cool from repeated abuse. Best bet is to look into a good pad....there are many threads about this just search. But if you really need to stop faster you can go with some larger blank rotors and better calipers(more pistons)
stoptech bbk's or fastbrake bbk's
i am currently looking at the fastbrake kits 11 rotor 2 pot, maybe not that much more braking power but less weight on the fronts (and i have SI brakes which are 11)
no need to go nsx calipers, regular vtec calipers will do you just fine, and want more stopping power? get blanks (or even autozone rotors, i know personally a honda challenge racer that uses it) and some cobalt pads
