which crx should i fix???
Alright guys after years of saving my money i am finally ready to finish one. Here is the problem i have 2 crx's..i know i know that doesnt sound like to much of a problem but neither crx is in the best shape in the world....
Here is crx number 1. Its a Hf that i have had for acouple years. I payed 1,000 for it and it drove great untill i wrecked it. The car has a salvage title on it because of some guy not giving it back to the dealership or something years ago. The odometer has been clocked back to 47,000 miles, why idk. The car has 0 rust, and it still runs. It has the 1.5 liter engine. As you can see the only thing really wrong with the car is the top, it has been crushed down pretty good. The A arm(post) is bent pretty far down.

Here is crx number 2. Its a Dx that i bought last year. I payed 100 dollars for it. It has a clean title with i think 180,000 miles on the body. The car does not run and still has the DPFI in it. The car is ate up with rust...floorboards, quarter panels, around the gas tank lid, and even in front of the doors on the shell.

Ok, here is my question...do i fix car number 1 or 2. If i cut the top off of 2 and weld it back onto 1 i would just have to do alittle bodywork where i connected the two cars and i would be done. If i fix car 2 i would have to cut out the parts of rust and weld in the parts off of car 1 to replace it. I dont know what to do guys, either fix the HF or work on the DX.
I also have another question, i happen to know where i can get a Ls/vtec for pretty cheap. All i have heard from them is bad things though, like they dont last very long (not reliable)...i want a motor that is very reliable, so should i just wait and get a b16 or should i pick the Lsvtec up. Any comments would be helpful. Thanks guys.

If you're set on fixing one of the two I'd go with the second. Clean title, would be the selling point to me. I'd rather have a clear title and have to do some body work than one with the salvage title.

That's what I'd do!

You will save so much money if you wait and find a decent shell. As much as I like CRX's, neither on of those are worth fixing. But if your set of fixing one, go with car #1. If your building it for yourself, who cares about a salvaged title.

Don't even go there, ain't right in the long run-you end up with nothing when it's done.

i just hate to not fix one of them up guys... i really liked my blue HF...it really wouldnt be hard for me to chop the top off the red one though, i have done it two or three times on other cars. i just hate to let two crx's die...you know what i mean.
I requested a short story for a title.

couldnt you just make a convertable out of the blue one. just so you dont have to see it go. i bet if it was done right it might look nice. but i think it would have to be a permanent summer convertalbe. no drop top, that way you could close and shave everything up real nice. just a suggestion.
I would save up and buy another shell, thats just me. If i had to fix one of them up, fix up the red one. cut the fenders from the blue one onto the red one.
I feel where your comming from.If you have plenty of time, fix the blue one.BUT it still might be cheaper in the long run to find another shell.By the time you find some fenders and other little thing you need to finish making both into 1,you would be saving money.

money wise-yes
sentimentally to someone-you never know.Everyone gets attached to a car they own once or so in their life. That's the real car addict.

like the others have said, they are both totaled, completely, other than sentimental shooting cars, they are worthless..get another shell with no motor.
go from there.

not really,I did own a few cars trying to mellow a tad, didn't work, the Rex started it all over
a little more fun than the Trans/Am-both go karts, lol.
and it's been domestic to a jump to my Rex.It's just fun in so many ways.
