fuse box help
I have 96 lx and i need to find the free pins on it. What i need is a power source thats only on when the key is in the on postition, and have no power when on start or acc.
this is what FCM told me.
the free pins will look the same even if they are not in the same place, see the row of 4 terminals just to the left of the fuses, [2nd pix, front of fuse box]... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1 they are the free pins, the one you want is the one that has power on it only when the key is in the run position, 2nd ign., [no power in acc. or start]. 94
Where would this be located?

no, i want it on only when the key is in the "on" postion.. no power to it when in the "acc." or "start" position.
What im doing is putting a battery isolator in, and its got to have power on wire, but it can only have power when the key is in the "on" position so the alternator will charge both batteries while the car is on, (if it has power in either of the other two, then the batteries will be connected and both will drain). If the line has power to is when in "start" from the key, the car will try to start off both batteries, and if it has it power from the line in "acc", then both batteries would drain instead of one which would cancel out the point of the isolator.

Just get a test light (can be gotten from any parts store. Hook it up and probe each pin while turning the ignition until you get the results you want.
Are the pins male or female?

What kind of isolator are you using? My truck isolator has the alternator outputconnected to its center terminal and the outer two terminals charge the batteries separately. There is no feedback between batteries because the isolator isolates them from each other.
im using one with 4 poles. 2 pos. for the 2 batteries, one ground and a ign turn on.
can i just take the top of my steering colum and put a line off one of the wires in there? I ask because i had it off before to wire up some fog lights, of course the line would be fused and relayed.. but can i even see the ign wires when the top is off?
