head bolt striped HELP HELP!!

Default head bolt striped HELP HELP!!

i have a 99 LS engine i need to replace the head gasket and 1 of the bolt heads are striped i have no clue what to do i called redzone and they said to try and tap in a 13mm that did not work so not im stuck with a strpied 14mm bolt in my head and i got this engine YESTERDAY !!!

Well if you have a bolt or stud that is stripped you would want to use a dye.
If its a nut you want to use a tap.

thank you im gonna look into geting a dye does anyone have anyother methods of doing this ?

where can i find a dye ?

is it the hole in block thats stipped or head of bolt or threads of bolt?
nevermind i se you said bolt head now... no die is goint to do anything for that.

drill into it, reverse tap it and put in a reverse threaded bolt and crank it out.
make sure everything else is taped off so no shavings get into anything

I'm not too sure but maybe you can use a bolt out type of socket that is meant for stripped nuts.. It's a special socket used for stripped nuts.. Got my set at sears..


That's what I always use to get my stripped nuts out.. But you gotta hammer it on though..

yeah those things have saved my *** a couple times they work good if you hammer it on real solid.
