Default Wheelies are FUN?

I got the urg to go ride yesterday, and it started raining about 2 min after i got home. So i was hoping to get some time in today. I had a really frustrating/busy day at work and felt like i just snapped....

I got on my bike when i got home, and felt a little weird...i dunno..its very possible that i became retarded at work today.

So i get out and go down this tar back road that no one is ever on, and theres no house, and continuosly start picking up my bike. I dont normally do this. Anyway, i was picking it up in 1st gear around 5k by bouncing and on/off throttle, jerking it up as high as i possibly could until it started to tip back over. I was using my foot break, bouncing it up and releasing the throttle, and catching it after the brake kept it from looping. Stupid...i know...but it was fun..hahah

anyway, i think god helped me on this one. I started doing the same thing in second gear, high R's though, but jerking it up, release throttle, catch with brake, then catch from coming down with throttle. The last time i did it in second gear, at the point i was gonna catch it from looping with the brake, both my feet slipped forward, and i knew i was going down, and hard at that...i have no idea what the speedo said, but second gear pickups on my 6 are usually pretty high....so my left foot jacked the bike into 1st gear when i slipped forward, most of you should know what the bike does when that happens :/

so my ***** are black, i think i may have broken a rib (honestly), and i cracked the sheild on my helmet!!

So, am i a squid now? or have i always been one?

Get the ribs checked out, buy a new shield, and find a girl to rub your *****. Gently, of course.

Congrats on your hazing into squid-dom.

You're a wannabe squid.

I never said you broke and rules, I never said I changed any rules. I voiced my idea (just like your definition says) and asked a question in a humrous manner and at the same time answered yours. Lighten the F*ck up

squidish or not, wheelies are fun as hell. given you wear your gear and don't do them in the middle of traffic during rush hour.

i've been practicing wheelies for the last couple months. first powering them in first gear and then 2nd gear bouncing them. i've now moved onto clutching it up.

just be safe and smart about it. try to stay within your boundaries, and take baby steps. most of the time when wheelies get looped are from when the rider tried to over do what they're capable of.

i suck. i can power it up in first, i dont ride it, just pick it up. in second, i can clutch it up just a little, and that's it, and i can't bounce it or power it up.

oh well. it's my daily driver, i dont need to wreck it

It could happen to the best of us. Good luck with the recovery. If you were doing all of that with a 'wife-beater,' no gloves, shorts, and some sandals on...I think it would be fair to call you a 'squid.'

I'm definitely still shy of wheelies, most of mine are accidental, but sometimes i'll try to power wheelie in 1st. My first "accidental" wheelies were quite scary. I was just trying to enjoy my newfound power (went from nighthawk 250 to sv650) is 1st gear and, oh **** my front wheel is off the ground. Now if i'm feeling energetic, i'll intentionally goose it in first to get a little ***** 12" wheelie going for a about a half second.

You should see me on my bicycle though, i can ride a damn wheelie as long as you want me too. It just seems so much scarier on the moto though.

Ill post a pic if you want, theres a scratch on the top left side of the tank, not deep,. I think its either from my glove( hard yamaha gloves) or maybe from the sleeve zipper. Last time i checked human flesh and bone dont usually dent metal at the speeds i was going.

this is another reason why GP shift kicks ***. If I do the same thing I just shift gears and the wheel falls down in front of me.

nice. it kicks *** and you'll really start to enjoy it. only bad thing is some of the newer bikes are harder to switch to gp shift. require new rearsets
