It's not the GP[/i] bike. It's just using a design that they experimented in GP with.

Uh, they're not selling the GP bike?
This has the potential to be a WSBK homologation special, as well.

What I had meant to say is that GP bike engines are not allowed to be too similar to production motorcycles. I believe it was WCM who got in a bit of hot water for using R1 crankcases for their GP bike.

Correct, the GP rules state that the bikes cannot share any parts with production motorcycles.

Why?
Why?
the gp bikes are supposed to be nothing like your production models. is just the rule. Why? To seperate itself from superbike and things of that sort. Plus with the departure from production setups means companies are forced come up with lots of new technology to push the limits of the gp world which will trickle down to superbike and production models.
