EK c/f wings
Any of you EK owners have the Arospeed "spoon" wing? They're pretty cheap on Groupbuycenter and thinking about getting one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to buy a piece of ****, but I also don't wanna spend 400 for a real Spoon wing either.
One inch gaps on the side, carbon fiber is shitty. But besides that, it is great!
It looks like the original was based on the EG, so it doesn't go w/ the lines too well.
It is okay i guess.

I did a search to find the owner of the black EK posted so I can just IM him and get his insight on his wing but couldn't find it. So...whoever owns this EK, please reply with your thoughts or IM me. thanks guys...

well i talk to him regarding the wing , cause i was interested of doing one in my car
and some of his thoughts was that it was ok and it didnt fit to perfection , like some of the oem parts do ! he would of prefer going with the spoon , but spoon is like around 400

I'm mainly worried about how the fitment would look like on a white hatch (like mine). Can't really tell on the black ones. I guess I can buy it and see what it fits like and if I'm not satisfied I'll just sell it to a local riceboy
i originally got an arospeed one, but it was cracked from shipment (thank god). It was pretty lousy. I never bothered fitting it, but the rear trailing edge of the wing was transparent. The edges werent overlayed like the spoon. You could actually see where the two peieces of carbon met, and you could see through the resin. The weave was pretty consistant, but there were some waves in it. Truthfully, I probably would have kept it if it wasnt cracked, since I never saw a spoon this close to compare.
It was also pretty flimsy, and had a lot of fiberglass shavings on the inside to try to stiffen it up.
When I sent it back, I decided to get the spoon. The spoon was much stiffer, the weave was better, the edges were better. It cost twice as much (200 compared to 400) but way worth it.
And I cant comment on fitment, since I didnt mount the arospeed. BUT the spoon fitment was just as good as my oem wing, since my hatch is a little off, and I haven't gotten around the adjusting it.

yeah thats my hatch
to be honest the wing is ok
the fitment issue is what really pissed me off
there are gaps on the sides where its supposed to curve downwards
if arospeed just took the time to cut it right on the edges it would be
a great wing for the money
here are 2 pics to show you what i mean

Bottom line... Spoon is twice the price for a reason... and like someone already said, you get what you pay for! The Spoon wing fits perfectly and is very strong and there are no waves in it. Get the Spoon
I recently bought what I thought was a Spoon wing on ebay. Turns out it is an Arospeed one. It actually fits pretty good and the construction isn't bad, but since I am a JDM freak, I am replacing it.
Selling mine for $200 plus shipping. If anyone is interested IM me....
