Default LS swap

Hows it goin fellas well friend of mine has a 96 ls he jus wrecked and got a 93 civic with no motor, ecu, gauge cluster or wiring harness. He was wondering if he could put his ls motor, wiring harness and ecu in the civic. I wasnt to sure of an answer to give him other than getting a obd-1 civic wiring harness, dizzy, etc. to make it work cuz i dont believe he could use the ls wiring harness. Is this correct or no

The OBD2 wiring harness will plug into the shock tower harness of the Civic. But he won't be able to use the ECU.

so that wiring harness will plug into the dash n all that but he needs an obd-1 ecu. So he would be better off trying to get an obd-1 wiring harness and ecu basically like i stated before correct?

just get an obd 1 p75 or p74 ecu, MAKE SURE THE ECU THAT MATCHES YOUR TRANNY you'll be very unhappy with an auto ecu on a 5spd. plug and play. You can use the LS wiring harness without a problem there is no need to change it unless it's damaged.

or if you can find a cheap(er) obd2 ECU, you can get a jumper harness

but obd1 is much easier to tune/ect

if you give me a free place to crash in Chas. I'll give you a p75 ecu that's been chipped. it throws a cel 21 (vtec cel) for some damned reason but works great.

aight cool i will let him know to get an obd-1 ecu and conversion harness for it. Yea i knew about the auto manually thing wit ecus just wasnt sure if the wiring harness worked in that car. He didnt tell me that much about the whole thing but also what is the reason for running the obd-1 ecu instead of the obd-2 one cuz im sure hes going to ask me when i tell him he has to buy more stuff

the obd-2 ecu wont plug into the 93 civic. but of course it wil work if you got a jumper harness. the best way to go is to just get the 94-95 obd-1 LS ecu

see thats what i thought you guys was getting to. I dont think any of the wires are in the car i really dont know the guy. There are no shops in this town that know anything about hondas all they know about are old domestics. i cant even buy parts here. Alot of people call me for help cuz ive done a few integra swaps and a h23 vtec back in 2001. So everyone calls me when they need help. I dont even have the guys number if he calls back i will get more info from him. THX for the help fellas. Hopefully its jus the engine harness thats gone.

the engine harness works, but if you want to run the obd2 ecu then you need to get a jumper harness
