Si came in the following colors:

Granada Black Pearl - exclusive to the Si ONLY!!!

Captiva Blue Pearl

Milano Red

Frost White - think it was only a 1994-1995 color though

Tahitian Green Pearl

Paradise Blue-Green Pearl - darker teal than Tahitian Green

May I ask you why you want an Si? Do you realize that the 1992-1995 Si hatchback weighs MORE then the DX and even LX 4-door Civics of the same years?

I've had 2 and both had swaps, and I can tell you that a CX/VX/Dx will beat you with less power every time.

Here's a link to a thread about the Civic weights:

Good luck.

I've read your posts and although I'm not arguing with anything you've posted, I think it comes down to personal taste. If someone was really into racing and modding their car for maximum weight/power ratio, then I would agree that the Si hatch wouldn't be the best choice. However, some people out there just want a nice peppy little car to drive around with certain creature comforts like Moonroof, etc. Also, depending on where the guy is located, the price difference between an Si hatch as compared to a CX, VX, or DX may not be that big. Being that with an Si, you get the power mirrors, power steering, four wheel disc brakes, and the moonroof as well as the gauge cluster with tach, if the price difference isn't all that great, then why not get the Si?

Bottom line is..I respect your opinions but I think it comes down to what each person is looking to do with their car. From reading your posts, your choices are the ones best suited to you. BTW, great work no the hatch so far. It looks like it'coming along great.

After doing a little car shopping myself, I found the CX to be a little too un-civil for my own tastes. The car requires too much work to bring it in to my comfort zone, which I just don't have the time or money for. Athough, the Si is just a little too much for me as well...Need to find something inbetween... DX!

Semi-EDIT: I don't think the Si came in the darker version of Tahitian Green, The Blue-Green you are referring to...Maybe I'm just crazy though??

He's not lying, the Si is a tank, I have one. Ever since I started building up my car, I wished I had found a CX or VX. But at the time, I needed a car, and I found my Si for cheap, and it was super clean, couldn't pass it up. If you're going to race it, find a CX/VX, you'll be a lot happier in the long run.

Hey, are you sure that Granada Black Pearl is exclusive to the Si's? Or did you mean that there aren't any other hatches that are GBP? Because I'm really sure that my coupe is GBP too

I really dont care that the Si is the heaviest....and, yes, I already knew this. But, its the most sensible platform to build as far as Im concerned....it already has 4 wheel disk, and the wiring for VTEC....plus, it had a sunroof, and i really dont wanna cut a hole in the roof of a CX....thanks for the colors, though, i appreciate it.

As far as the 1992-1995 hatchbacks go, Granada Black Pearl was only on the Si.

It also came on the 1993-1995 DX and EX coupes too.

and the wiring for VTEC.....
sorry just had to add this.. it is only 3 wires you have run from the engine harness near the battery to the ecu.. took me all of 10 min to do on my friends dx hatch when got his swap..

i to had an SI as my first honda.. i was set on getting an si and didnt want anything less probably cause of the comfort stuff.. but after getting it, its not much better.. you still have manual windows, no power door locks, but you do get mirrors, and a sunroof.. i ended up putting an alarm onto thec ar and it it cost $150 just for powerlocks... it was a nice car to have, loved it until i wrecked and the insurance company totaled it.. go out and get what you want, after all its your car..

yes..the sad truth is all you really get is alot more weight, power mirrors, and a sunroof that's gonna cost hundreds to get fixed when it craps out on you (like my 92 Si did me). well, i guess if you get a CX like me you have vinyl seats...but those are getting replaced i currently own a 91 Si, and a 92 CX...the 5g is much more comfortable for daily driving even with less 'features'

It's all cool man, no hard feelings here.

I'm just saying that if you want the absolute bang for the buck, then the lower trim levels are the better choice as opposed to the Si.

No biggie though. I've still got another 1992 Si with a B16A2 swap as well and the features are OKAY but really there's nothing other than the moonroof that you can't add to a lower model, and trust me the roof is THE big weight adder on the Si.

Everyone talks about how the weight doesn't bother them, cus they want to have all that power CRAP, and moonroof. But opinions change when your getting your *** handed to you by every b16 cx hatch out there..

GSR Motor w/ i/e/h in a 95 Si = 14.90 @ 94
GSR Motor w/ i/e/h in a 92 Cx = 14.00 @ 98

Yes everyone who says that it is all personal preference is totally correct.

Here's mine and why:

I live in an area where hybrids are pretty common. Just about every cloe friend of mine drives an EG hatch with a B-series swap, so of course we always fucked around with each other when cruising around.

I had a GS-R motor in a 1992 Si. I have 3 other buddies all with GS-R motors in their hatches, yet they do not have an Si like I did. Every time we'd race or drop, they'd beat my *** even though we all dynoed within 3whp of each other.

To ME the "luxury" features in the Si were not wrth it at all. The moonroof rattles and it needs help when opening and closing it, and this is the case on BOTH of the 1992 Si hatches I've owned (and still own one). The roof adds weight up top where you'd want it LEAST in terms of body roll, and every other "feature" can be added to the lower models.

*IF* you are swapping, then the base motor doesn't mean ****. It's all about low price and if you want to be faster, low weight. Read that link about the weights and you'll quickly see that the 1992 Si hatch weighs more than the more "luxurious" LX manual 4-door. The LX 4-door has power steering, power windows, power doorlocks, power mirrors, cruise control, etc. all standard and it weighs LESS than the "less equipped" Si hatch.

My CX has 4-wheel disc brakes, tilt column from an Integra with the leather wheel, bigger master cylinder/booster combo, Integra Seats, etc. so the features are a-plenty for me. All of this and it will weigh a good 200lbs. LESS than my old Si.

If you live in an area with no other hybrids or you fell absolutely NO competition among friends, then the Si will be just fine I guess.

Happy hunting!

Thats exactly why i only want an Si...I need that sunroof. Especially in a car with no power anything. And i know its only 3 wires for VTEC, but factory, as far as Im concerned, is always better than adding it...just my opinion. If anyone happens to have a Si hatch that they would like to sell, drop me an email...thanks for all the replies.
