Default Tranny fluid leak @ shift linkage....HELP!

Ok guys, heres the deal..... I swapped out my old motor in my 90 HF & replaced it with a B18C1 w/ ITR tranny.

I drove the car around a few times with just the original bolt that came with hf tranny & had the shift linkage fall from the tranny twice (the one attatched by the bolt) so the 1st time that happened, the linkage just dropped, the bolt was still attatched (needed a washer) so i just added a washer & drove it around...it fell out on me again! except this time the bolt came off too.

so for the 2nd time, i used a longer bolt (which is where i fucked up) & 2 washers (just to hold it in place longer until i ordered the oem parts)..that worked like ****, but it worked.

So today, I go and get under that car & remove that bolt to install the oem parts & now i get tranny fluid pouring out of the hole where the bolt was attatched. Im sure i fucked something up....as i compared the length of the bolts, the one i had on there was twice the length....so im not sure what i broke or what...did i ruin my tranny or is it something thats not too expensive to fix? please help a fellow EF'er out.

Thanks

Vic

it sounds like the longer bolt cracked the case when it bottomed out. if that happened, well that just sucks. make sure the fluid isnt just pooring down in that area from something else. i think it cracked though

Is there anything that can be done to fix this prob? or do i need to get a new tranny?

i cracked the case on my ys1 a few months back.
Your options:
1.Take all the guts out and reassemble it in a new usdm itr case.
2.Depending on if it's a crack or something like a "chunk" fell off you might be able to "fill" the crack with some welding.(you better be damn good and not heat the gears up and warp the internals.)
3.) bite the bullet, buy a new tranny, and learn that bottoming out with too long of a bolt can cost a lot.

good luck. i hate drivetrain problems.
