how to tell if....
if my dohc zc is jdm or not. the stamp under the "ZC" starts with a number 2. i was told when i bought it from a local shop that it was jdm, but im not really sure what it is. thanks guys.
o0oh ok, cool thanks. but ive read somewhere a long *** time ago that theres different zc'x, some stamps start with a 5, others with 2, whats the significance(cnt spell) of this?
umm im not sure about that... maybe one is canadian? i dont know if they made a ZC in canada tho... im pretty sure that all of them were made in japan..... maybe there is a difference in the ZC motors because there are 3 ZC's out there
-DOHC zc
-SOHC zc NON v-tec
- SOHC zc V-TEC
-DOHC zc
-SOHC zc NON v-tec
- SOHC zc V-TEC
the DOHC ZCs that have serial number beginning with '2' are from the 88-91 JDM CRX/Civic Si (this is the ZC that fits USDM 88-91 CRX/Civic) - the ones with serial number beginning with '5' are from 88-89 JDM Integra and do not fit the USDM 88-91 CRX/Civic - they are like the JDM "browntop" ZC and the USDM 88-89 Integra D16A1 and fit the 84-87 CRX/Civic - they have a black valve cover, electronic ignition timing and a few other things that are different from the "browntop" ZC, but are essentially the same as the "browntop" ZC and 88-89 D16A1
