Cutting Flex Bellows?
Hey guys...
I've got a 8" flex bellows laying around that I want to cut in half. Is this ok to do? Has any of you done this? Basically, my plan is to use hose clamps on both side to make sure the wire weave doesn't fray. Then use some piping (a large pipe (cover the weave) to weld the cut ends to. Maybe have to weld a large pipe to cover the weave. What do you guys think?
Thanks.

It's a left over part, that I want to use, but don't have space for the whole 8".
I want to cut the the braided portion (basically, cutting it in half), and see if I can put something back on.

Yeah, I was planning on using a big hose/coupler clamp. Let me look at it more closely.

use a chop saw.. maybe wrap it in tape? a bandsaw might be dangerous if you're doing it by hand.
edit: the chop saw might be dangerous too.. just make sure you have that thing clamp down good because saws love to grab the braids.
