Default Anyone Running 235 tires or higher? (5th gen)

Anyone running 235 wide tires or higher on their 5th gen? I'm lowered 1.25inches with a 48+offset 17x7.5 wheel and I'm wondering if 235/40 tires will fit on my car? Also does anyone have any pix of these size tires installed?

Pretty sure 225/40(or 45, don't remember) will fit. Not sure about 235

I believe the highest you can go is a 225 series.

I had a 225 on my 4th gen last year... they were pretty beefy.

235/40/17 will fit on a 17x8 rim +48 offset. You can't be dropped more than 1.5" though. Several PreludeOnline members run or have run that setup. I think Monk3y on this board has. The offset is critical and +48 seems to be the sweet spot. Currently the SSR Competition and OZ Ultraleggera are the only two wheels I know of in that size and offset unless you do a special order from Volk or Work.

I have a few pics of 235/40/17 on SSR comps if you want to send me your email.

By the way, 7.5" is considered too small by all the tire manufacturers to safely run a 235/40/17 - 8" in minimum. It may fit on a 7.5" but if it fails you have no legal recourse.

you are right.

235/40/17 with 17x8 +48 offset fits.

I have Monk3y's rims. They are rota torques.

I run 215/40 on a 17x7" wheels but i've run even 225/40 on the same 7" wheels in the past with no problem so i suppose a 235/40 tire will fit fine an 7,5" wheel.
