Default Just bought an extreamly clean Ef and got a few questions..

Ok i have a 1990 Civic Hatchback Si. Im getting ready to throw in a gsr, so my first question is what would be the best exhaust for a decent price (300$-450$), i was looking at the thermal one, and skunk2, whitch would be better or whats another one thats good. Also my other question is is it possible to put in amber bumper lights into the stock bumper, or do they only fit JDM bumpers?? Thats about it i will have pics soon, its freshhhhhhh!!! the only problem is the sun roof is glued around, i guess the guy wanted to fix a leak. But yeah if you help me out and maby give me a few ideas, on what to do as far as look wise.. example (headlights, turn signals, corners, bumper, hood, etc.) I want a very JDM look, but i dont want to jusp to the sir conversion yet. Thanks guys give me some info if you could, it will come back to you i got a garage full of parts so if you help me out ill hook ya up!

I have a Thermal w/ high flow cat and I like it.

You can get amber paint and paint your stock bumper lights...it will look "fresh".

By the way, the Search button will give you most answers you're looking for. If not, come back with more specifics.

I've got Thermal R&D's 2.5 inch exhaust with a high flow cat and it sounds great.
It's got a good deep tone , not raspy lick a weedeater.

Ok so Im Guessing i should go with the thermal..... i got two thumbs up in about 15 mins. Thanks guys for the help... Another thing, yesterday i went and was trying to swap out the stock civic seats to some GSR black cloths, for temparary untill i gut it. But anyway everything fit perfict except for the bottom bench seat.. i had no idea, it was wayyyy off it was to short and what is that piping on the right side (if your looking at the seat from inside) that made it also a horrible fit. I got impatient and cut out abunch of foam from the bottom so it fits in and then i just zip tied it down, but what is that piping with the cover??

Well here's a for thermal.
IMO they are too loud and they rust very easily.

Don't go by what two people say on here or anywhere for buying anything. Do your research...especially on a $400+ purchase. You'll have various input on everything and it's your job to make a solid decision.

I have had my Thermal for 2 years with no rust issues, plus I got it used and the guy said he had it for 2 years. It has a low/ quiet tone when cruising or at idle, but opens up when at higher RPMs, but isn't whiney. I like it and don't necessarily like loud exhausts.

loud? i guess this is a taste thing, but that hasn't been my finding.

rust? not a chance. it's been on my car in ny for 9 years, and still looks like a (dented) champ.

go through the exhaust thread for more opinions on the taste factors (sound and looks)

Thermal rust?? I didn't know SS rusted and its thick too, your car will rust out before a thermal exhaust will.... theral is the best exhaust atleast I love mine, it is quiet untill you romp on it and it sounds awesome not like any other rice burners out there well worth the money it is loud at WOT

Wow ^^^^^^ I'm really suprised by your guys' responses...

I'm guessing the noise factor depends on which series you get. I've got a few friends that have them (i don't know which series) and I personally couldn't handle the noise daily driving. (they do sound good though.. just too loud).

and i don't know what to say about the rust. Rust is the main reason I disliked Thermal. I guarantee Omahas winters are as bad (if not worse) than NY and I've seen multiple multiple mufflers rust badly.

and Luserkidwac I realize SS doesn't rust you ***. Not all thermal systems are ss

magnaflow muffler gets my vote
no need to shell out crazy cash for a good exhaust...
I had a muffler shop custom bend me some 2.25 aluminized, along with a test pipe & glass pack mated to a magnaflow. all together I paid less than 200.00 not including the obx 4-2-1. sounds quiet and i get better low end on my b16 than my old fart can set up
