I just purchased a 2004 Accord EX with about 35k miles on it for a good price and nearly mint condition. Now I am not sure if it was something I did or not but after I picked up the car I went out for the night and sometime during that evening the headunits backlight was not activating.

That night it seemed the screen was not displaying anything but when I checked it out in the morning if I tried hard enough I could see the display when the screen was in direct sunlight.

I have read through the owners manual and played around with almost all the settings and still cannot figure out how to turn the headunits backlighting on, all help is much appreciated... And no the dashboard dimmer does not effect the brightness of the screen.


(It has the stock EX audio gear and on the headunit it says 7BK1 if that means anything to anyone)

 

its not anything youre doing, somethings messed up, maybe a blown fuse? the cars under warranty isnt it? im sorry thats all i got

 

You just need to swing by your dealer and have them replace the audio unit. It will be covered under warranty regardless of mileage. It's a pretty common problem. Just be sure all of the cd's are out of it 1st
