Default another dpfi-mpfi swap problem

88 std hb
just did the swap. cranks up fine, but once it starts the rpms go up quickly until redline w/o me touching the gas. i switched the wires on the tps, and switched them back to no success. the throttle cable is completely loose too. i think it's in the dizzy wiring. does anyone kno the colors of the wires and what they run to on the dizzy. i kno blu/grn and blu/yel are CPS.

your wiring may be 100% dead on perfect like mine was and you are still experiencing this problem. For me this rev by itselft to redline even though throttle plate was closed ended up being a vacuum leak.

honestly that rear intake manifold to block bracket doesnt so too much as the intake isnt that heavy, but if you do decide to put it on, you have to elongate the holes and makes SURE YOU INSTALL THE intake manifold with a new gasket FIRST. tightly..then try to install the rear bracket...as after further inspection the intake manifold wasnt sitting flush with the "to head" mounting surface due to the installation of the rear manifold brace...hope this helps if nothing else works

Check the dashpot vacuum hose...and vacuum leaks in general.

all vacuum hoses look good. doesn't bounce off red limiter, just sits at a high rpm. dunno exactly, don't have a tach. when i pull the vacuum hose off at the TB, idle stays low, but idles like ***.

1. The dizzy wiring can't make the revs increase
2. The TPS has to be miscalibrated for it to allow fuel to flow - even if there is a vaccum leak.
Let me explain this, the TPS tells the ECU the throttle is open and the ECU has fuel maps based on Throttle percentage to give a specific amount of fuel. Just causing a vaccum leak won't make the engine rev, because without the TPS saying the butterfly is open - no fuel will flow to allow it to rev. Air w/o fuel = shut off.
So i would definately check that TPS.

It's highly likely you have a gasket leak somewhere, If you've got it to hold a high idle and not incraese you could try spraying carb cleaner around the I/M and sensors while it's running, when the idle surges slightly when you spray carb cleaner in a certain spot - there's your leak.
