Grease inside my fuel gauge sending unit??wtf
The grease is in the plug not the actual unit its self, i forgot to that word in sorry.
Hey everybody, my gas gauge was reading wrong so after making a thread about it, they've told me to replace the sending unit or fuel gauge meter. Went to honda and got me one about a montha ago but haven't had time to put it in. Finally, today, i got around to installing it and when i pulled the connector plug off the old one, i found some kind of light greenish grease INSIDE the plug and some on the back which was brown on top and the rest is white. So, i got some needles and paper towels and started cleaning it, and after about an hour i've cleaned some of it but not as clean as i want it to be, i've also found some in my alternator plug, that's probably why i had shity lighting and all that good stuff. Well, let's get to the question, how can i clean this up? i didn't wanna do anything else i just put it back together and drove the car. Any suggestions on how to clean it out from both plugs?

It's probably Dielectric...
The primary purposes of the grease are to keep out moisture, and prevent corrosion. Prevention of corrosion keeps the metal-to-metal contact point in a connector conducting electricity.
