Default 6 speed trany!!???

Just to clearify i did search before posting both this site and google.

I was talking with a friend about works performed on my lude and he brought up this odd idea of a six speed swap for the lude. i have a 4th gen 2.3 with your basic bolt-ons and was thinking that its impossible and probably a waste of time to even consider the idea. Anyone have thoughts on which trany would mostly like make it remotely possible if any?? would the CL's six speed work?? now that i think about it, it sounds like a lot of work.

some input would really help

at this point if it is cost effective it's probably already been done for any "mod"

If the "mod" hasn't been done yet it's because it's not worth the time or $$$ required

I think you should do it. You could easily run 11's on the quarter mile with that tranny and there would be a TON of support for people to run this transmissions for the next 20yrs.

only reason I'd want a 6 speed is that my highway mileage would be really good. I'm at like 4k rpm at 80mph.

my list of mods so far...
aem cold air, dc 4-2-1, custom exhaust for this lude ( looks like any other exhaust to me, but a friend from a shop got it for me, love the sound), aem alternator and power light pulleys (which was a bitch cause after the install it was push powering steering fluid out of the resevior with now sign of stopping but its good now), act stg 3 clutch, flywheel (8 or maybe 12lbs i don't remember what it said but i think 8lbs), and about to gear up for a turbo install.. thats where i'm at right now

If you want highway milage, swap out your transmission for an F22 or F23 transmission and enjoy your nice long gears

tsx and rsx trannies spin in the opposite direction. you would have 6 reverse gears and 1 forward gear. i feel bad for this guy. if you really want 6 forward gears you will ahve to get a custom made transmission housing and gears, or try to swap a nsx 6 speed somehow. basically you need to understand that this topic has been discussed several times, and it always turns out that a 6 speed prelude is not practical. and FYI i got the same milage with both h23 and h22 gearing on my h22, but you get more acceleration with h22 gears.
