I just put some on my hatch on sat., after i painted the moldings black..
i just went to autozone and bought the 1/4" 40' roll of red pin-stipe they had...
i came out all right, and left about 1/16" on each side of the stripe.

From what i can recall, i measured the gap to be around 7 or 8mm wide. I had a decal shop cut them in pre-determined lengths. Have fun applying them. **** is a bitch trying to get them as straight as possible!!

do you happen to have any pics of yours?

peel the backing of at hte the end and apply it past where you are actually going to apply it. then you can unroll how much you need and pull it straight. once you have it laid accross hwere it is going to be hold the end away from the car and peel the backing paper off. you can then lay it down into the gap in the moulding extremely straight.
(picture sticking a piece of tape to the hubcap/wheel and then pulling it back accross the side of the car. then trim it. this way you always have clean application and edges)
3m vinyl. 3/8"
if i had pics i would post them...it's hard to describe

Heres the one i did. Its 3M stuff too. The door decals are replicas so i had them match it to the stripe in the same silver.

Kylesfakesir: I really would like to see detailed shots of yours. I remember when i went to the Eibach meet, there were like 10 guys there with the red stripe, and ALL of them were crooked as ***. It was so nasty looking...

Are you guys using the pin stripes on USDM side moldings or JDM? I'm unaware if there is even a difference between the two or not. I'd liked to do this to my hatch but it has usdm moldings on it.

The black hatch is NOT mine, its just my work on it. Heres another angle of the black one, even though its from afar, and my car (white hatch) in the same pic. As you can see, I dont run pin striping on mine.

^^ It appears to be crooked in some spots. Im super **** about this kind of stuff. On a side note the real deal stuff is actually a red/orange (same color as the striping on the EF9 seats), not pure red like everyone has.
yes, this is for the 88-89 moldings.
