Default 1996 Accord EX V6 Question

I was just carousing around on craigslist and a very well maintained ex-v6 came up fully loaded and they're asking a decent price, now I know the 98 + trannies especially autos with the v6 sucked majorly, is this the same case for the 94-97's? I'm wondering because I may just skip an engine rebuild and all that jazz on my car, sell it, upgrade and get all the amenities (ie power windows/locks/etc) for only about $1500 over my car's value which seems decent in my mind, mileage would be equivalent to my car when it hits 10 years old (it's at 146k for that) How well do these cars hold up?

The 94-97 trans is a pretty tough unit. I'd say you should test drive the car and look for slam bang shifts, that would say the trans is shot.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if the v6's tranny was any less reliable than than the f22 trannys as I know they're hard as a rock haha
