2003 Acura CL Type S - left sunroof open
I left my sunroof open last night and it rained pretty hard. I dried the seats off and used some armoral leather to try and repair any damage that might have happened to the seats but the other thing that happened was my SRS light came on and stayed on. I know that's something to do with the airbag but could this be caused by water getting in somewhere???

The occupant position detection sensor (OPDS) in the pass. side seatback probably got wet, which would cause the SRS light to come in most cases. The OPDS components are very sensitive, getting them wet would definitely cause problems. If you wait until it dries out completely, then take it to the dealership, you should be able to get it fixed under warranty if that's the problem. The OPDS system has a lot of problems in general and Honda extended the warranty on it to 150k miles here in the US, not sure about Canada. If they don't know that it ever got wet, they should replace it no questions asked pretty much.
Could be other issues as well, depending on just how wet the interior got, but the OPDS system is the most vulnerable.

Thanks Kenso. That's probably exactly what happened. The seats are pretty dry now. I let it sit in the sun for a while today and left the windows open to air it out. I have an appointment to take it in next Monday, so that's a week away. Do you think it will be completely dry by then, so that they don't know it was my own stupidity that caused it?
