I have a friend with a 92 prelude, orginally eqquipped with a F22a and he recently purchased a H22a. I am a civic/teg hybrid builder/owner and have done about 6 swaps INCLUDING A 97 ACCORD EX AUTO TO 5SPD PRELUDE TURBO-OBD1 CONVERSION. I figured I had better do a lil more research beforehand. The swap should be straight forward cept for the wiring but THE ONLY PROBLEMS IS SOMEONE HAS HIM TALKED INTO YOU USING HIS F22 TRANNY AND F22 PARTS.

I know alot of F series parts are interchangable with H like all B series

I searched and turned up lil archived information on the swap.

I know the powersteering neck on some swap has to be cut/brazed and etc, but I hope the orignal lude neck will work.

OFF THE TOP OF ANYONES HEAD, ANY DO NOTS OR CANNOTS ABOUT THE F22 PARTS BEING USED. A BUDDY OF MINE IS HOPEFULLY GONNA REPROGRAM THE F22 ECU WITH A PRELUDE MODIFIED PROGRAM, SO THE IAB SOL WORKS AND THE VTEC WORKS ETC.

anyone an JDM prelude engine buff? Other than the internal coil dist. what are the other signs? Does the 5 series serial number only apply to b16s?

 

Well seeing how the 4th gen prelude came equipped with a h22a in later years the swap was cake. Had to get a US spec h23 distributor (www.importautosalvage.com)$165 brand spankin new, to save the time and wiring. Got a clutch, flywheel and pressure plate, added some headers and were done...
