Default rs b20 pistons/head gasket question

I noticed some people were running 4 layer headgasket with these pistons in a b20vtec. I remember reading why they did that but I can't remember. Why would it be better to run a 4 layer?

To lower the compression. That the only reason I can think of

it was something about maybe the piston edges hitting the head cause of the head having an 81mm chamber when you hit higher revs like over 9000. I wish I could find the thread so I can know for sure. Alot of people use the pistons with great success with a stock HG but I wanna know all the possibilities.

I have these pistons, I will measure the piston to deck height soon to see what the clearance will be.

i was told that there might be clearance issues with an 81mm chamber on the head. im going to be using 84mm though so no worries, large chambers make good power anyway

i talked to a couple people on here about the issue.. and most of them are running a regular gasket.. and not having issues.. but they did open up the chambers a lil bit. dont these pistons come in different compression rates?? i got some and one i get mine to gether my c/r should be 12:5:1 with a oem gasket.. but with a 4 layer should drop it to 11:8:1...do any one know about this.. im pretty close to completeing my set up... what kind of cams are you runing in your b20 set up ivan.. that also has alot to do with runing a 4 layer gasket.

crower stage 3's How would I go about adding another layer on my gasket? I don't have any info on the pistons so how would I calculate my compression? I'm using a stock gsr head with these pistons. No mill on the head.

i owuld just go buy one.. cometic makes them equal to a 4 layer, to find out the c/r you have gotta figure out the cc's in your chambers to be exact but i guess that your set up it should be around 12:5:1.. thats what i was told with those pistons they should be at anyways. but i could be wrong..

They only come in one compresion ratio and RS told me that it is ~11.5:1 with B16 head and ~11.7:1 with GSR head.

I measured mine and the piston to deck clearance was around .005" in the hole.

hummm.. when i ordered i was givin tthe option of different compression levels.. and lowest being 12:5:1 which i thought too they only came 11:5:1... so i dunno.... which is weird.

i ordered through a local shop of my friends.. thats the c/r they came in is what he was told.. so i didnt think they had different c/r either, so i got the lowest c/r they offered which was 12:5:1.. so.. it seemed odd to me..
