What would you guys do?
Would you guys turbo an Itr motor or swap it out for a b18b/b18c1 and boost that. The way I see it is that since all the motors are stock and are going to be kept stock, they have equal capabilities. All three motors can put out about 300whp on stock internals, so im thinkin, why risk messing up a type R motor when the cheaper motors can handle just as much power to the wheels. I was just wondering if any of you see this situation the same way I do or if anyone has anything to add? Thanks
Well if you have an R with the original motor i wouldn't sell or trade the motor for a B18B/C. I would prefer to keep the original motor with vin tags just in case you ever plan to sell the car, as it would help retain value to the car. If you have the B18C5 swapped in another car then i would consider it because if you were to sell the swap you would be able to pick up a B18B and just about buy all your turbo related parts with the rest of the money.

But then it wouldnt matter if it was originally a C5 block because you can build anything so it "wont blow", he's going to keep the bottom end stock...

Nothing is "blow proof"
IMHO If I really wanted to get the boosted feel out of my body I would just find an ls motor and do it to that. The whole time having the C5 sitting on the side. Once the ls blows up(which it will) do the smart thing and put the C5 back in and enjoy a reliable car again!!

I see that most of you agree with me, so were going to try to take out the C5 and put in a b18b. And if were not able to, we just wont boost this car, and wait until something more disposable comes along. Thanks for all the responses.
