recomended size for 4th gen is: 205/55/15" or 205/50/16" 5th gen also had 205/45/17" as recomended size. calculate overal tyre + wheel size and try not to exceed these sizes too much in height.
so lets see what 205/50/16 is all about. 16" = 40,64cm thats a wheel diameter
40.64:2=20,32cm thats a 16" wheel radius, from center, to the edge.
now the tyre profile size:
50% of 205 = 102,5mm thats 10.25cm
tyre profile + wheel radius = 10.25 + 20,32 = 30,57cm = 12" if you want in inches.
with same calculations on 225/45 you'll get overal radius of 30.44 and thats not oversized. its even a bit lower than 16" standard. your speedometer will stay more accurate with standard height and youll maintain good acceleration. put those tyres on buddy club QF super lightweight wheels and youll be ok
oversized tyres suck IMO.
