Knocking sound coming from driver side wheel??? Need help!!
This is a bit hard to explain but...
When I brake and come to a stop, I hear a "knock" when the car stops. Or when the car is on and parked, if I turn the wheel to a certain point and turn it back and forth fast, I hear that same "knocking" sound. What could this be? Help!

first, check your axles and the axle nut to make sure that it's tight...then check to make sure your rotors on screwed on tight...i had the same problem and in the end, it ended up being my wheel bearings...

they will go with time in any car/truck that has them. again check everything that was listed above!

Okay... I was driving in a garage today and I could hear a light "clicking/ticking" sound when turning. Correct me if I'm wrong but, if I'm not mistaken, that's the cv joint? I want to save some money and fix this problem myself.. only thing is I'm not even sure what I'm looking for or what part the cv joint is? If I am correct about it being the cv joint, does anyone have pics or diagrams?
If there's anyone near the Seattle area that is willing to help, that would be awesome.

not hard to do.
get a beer
Take off your wheel, take off the axel nut (usually pretty big, ~30mm mabye)
Push your suspension out of the way
Get a pry bar and pull the axel out (if your transmission has little round flat spot on it, pry there or you might crack the casing)
Get the new axel (reccomend this over fixing the broken axle, you can get the autozone axles if you want, lifetime warranty) put the splined end into the transmission and just push it in. It will probably take some muscle, but it just pushes in
Pull your suspension back, put the other end through your rotor
screw the nut back on
make sure everythings tight
throw your bottle away
wash your hands
id be glad to help ya, but seattle is a bit of a drive.

If it does it while the car is parked, its more likely a ball joint...which is a whole lot more serious, if it breaks while driving.
Bad cv joints "click" many times (per rotation)
Bad ball joints "clunk" or "knock" once, everytime the wheels change direction

I would check the ball joints as well. Make sure all the suspension parts are nice and tight. Also is your car driving usual? Anything you feel abnormal? such as its recently pulling toward the right or left, swaying, etc.

Now that you said that... I'm almost certain both are bad.

One thing I have also noticed is that.. when I accelerate from a stop the wheel would turn right quickly.
What are the prices for these parts?
- cv joints
- ball joints

Ball joints are cheap - around $30
Axles are more - $50-60 depending on which side
Either one is relatively easy to fix, both are time consuming.
Ironically, both need to come out for either job

My friend and I took a look at the axle and everything "looks" fine, but it's definitely not. When my car is parked and I turn the wheel just enough to hear the knocking sound. It seems as though its coming from above the driver side wheel, and sounds like something is knocking against the wheel well. When we lift up the car we can't hear any knocking at all.
Also when driving over small bumps the driver side wheel area feels very loose like something could fall apart. I also noticed this morning that when I'm in 2nd gear w/ no throttle going downhill, there is a "knocking/rubbing/vibrating" like sound. Would that be part of the axles as well?
I've made my mind to go ahead and replace the axle, but I would like more input. TIA.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was?
