Front mount intercoolers, does weight cause understeer?
Don't know, never driven one.
But in general, adding weight to the front of a FWD car which is already very front heavy is a bad thing. Especially if the weight is wayyy up front and forward of the wheels.
You can always counter this by removing or relocating weight. Removing the air conditioner and power steering pump, and relocating the battery to the rear will help alot.
If you run in competition, make sure this stuff is legal.

Diving too fast into a corner causes understeer. No matter what you drive, even if its a miata. I can make my nose-heavy soft sprung saturn not understeer. Its all about being smooth.

Does a turbo system with a large fmic cause noticeable understeer? Just curious.
Now, the extra power (assuming you have it tuned right) and if you mash the throttle on corner entry, Yes.
it doesn't affect handling at all. It's a lot less than 30 pounds though.
this is mine: it's a tad big for my application.
good luck,

it doesnt wiegh anymore then 15lbs. its not a big deal. you figure the wieght you save by the damn stock exhaust manifold equals out in the end.
